The drawer of delayed decisions! I love that!😁

I just did that a few weeks ago. I used recycled containers for everything and it kept the cost to zero. I actually have a bin in the kitchen for recycled containers, separate from the tupperware, to use when it's something that will destroy the thing - painting, chemicals - or somewhere to organize.

Ha! I thought I was the only nut who saved old tissue boxes & used them as drawer inserts! It’s great to be vindicated. But, I never thought of the bottom of milk cartons. Great idea! I cleaned out my kitchen junk drawer last week & turned it into a “tool” drawer. But I still have the bedroom junk drawer to finish. Thanks for the tips. This 5 minute series has been great!

Another nut here...I save way too many things for reuse or recycle (Girl Scout leader syndrome?)!

Using those cutlery trays as you did Laura, is genius! I never thought to use them for sunglasses, batteries or lip balm.

My mother had (probably still has) two junk drawers, one at either end of the kitchen: the "phone book drawer" (with pencils, maybe a scissors, random directories) at one end and the "tool drawer" (with a small hammer, screwdrivers, etc.) and other utility items at the other end. Thinking in terms of "utilities" helps me keep some of the junky junk out of the kitchen, at least. We also always kept the batteries in the hallway linen closet, so that's an idea that helps me too: if I don't have to use it in the kitchen, maybe it doesn't have to be in the kitchen. I still have plenty of "junk zones" elsewhere, but I do not need to be distracted in the kitchen! :-D

My delayed decisions are placed in little piles around the house, so although they're in plain sight, they can't be ignored indefinitely. Now I'm working on making sure that the homes I have for things are near the other things in the same category. (E.g., Halloween decor with costumes, office supplies all near the office space, small repair things all together, etc.)
I also have an adhesives drawer with command hooks, tape, sticky tack, and other sticky things! I love that category. 😆
My favourite way to store batteries and small hardware is to use small tackle boxes!

This video made me realise that we don't have a junk drawer. No wonder bits and bobs get left out everywhere!
    P.S. Love your t-shirt

I need a catch all place, actually!!
This gave me a good chance to wash the dividers. Also move one or two things to the sewing kit. I tossed out a pen wide grip I never liked using
I made one side office supplies and the other side hardware types-tape measure...
I put stamps and mailing labels in a second drawer. I don’t think I can condense both drawers, but something to consider.
    Thank you so much!
The charity that is accepting donations doesn’t have availability in their truck till September 2! Today is 8/10. A friend is on their board, and said tons of people decluttering! This is one of the few places accepting donations.

I don't have a junk drawer! But what I did do when I Konmari'd is put together a little bin that holds all of the random bits that don't fit well elsewhere. I keep batteries, pins, bookmarks, dice, etc in there as well as some paper memorabilia. It's worked stupidly well for me.

Since you mentioned "your bag" at the end, will that be on the video list? Asking for a friend. 🤔😳😂

My kitchen drawer space is so limited. I do have an office drawer in my china cabinet, nearly empty. I donated to the local elementary many years ago.

My drawers are in good shape...it's the basement that needs work, especially now, when I am sorting out and not going to town on random errands. The pile for the consignment and charity shops is growing! Sigh....

I'd like to think that I wouldn't have a junk cupboard if my drawer were useable. My drawer is only about five inches wide. It holds pen, screwdriver, and scissors well, but that's about it.
